Subject matter

This privacy policy defines the rules safeguarding the legitimate processing of data, collected through Interrail and Eurail Passes and Pass Covers.

 

What information is collected from the Pass Cover when it is sent in?
Eurail Group G.I.E. collects non-identifying information (registered routes and ticket details) and personal details (name, email address, postal address, age group and title and ID details, if applicable) from the Pass Cover.

 

What is your information used for?
Collected personal details will be used sending back to you a gift and where requested – the Pass Cover to the address provided), as well as for answering any requests thereof.
If you ticked the box “I give Eurail Group G.I.E. permission to use my personal details to contact me for research purposes and/or to send me information”, Eurail Group G.I.E. may use your personal data for research purposes (i.e. to send you a survey), or you may receive relevant Eurail information in the future.

Non-identifying information is used for analysis, research or statistical purposes.

 

How does Eurail Group protect your information?
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

 

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell and trade your personally identifiable information. We transfer this information to third parties only for the purposes described above. We transfer your data to third parties, exclusively contracted for exercising the aforementioned activities, as long as those parties agree to comply with this privacy policy. We may also release your information when the release is due by law.


Data Processing and Controller Identity

In accordance with Section 3 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), personal details will be kept for no longer than necessary. Your personal data can be amended or erased upon request and provided that it does not conflict with applicable laws.
